Paseo Groundbreaking Celebration
Before a single floor was built, Paseo needed to make a statement. This was going to be a 48-story tower on Rainey Street, one of the most visible developments in Austin. The groundbreaking was the first chance to set the tone for what the brand would become and to strengthen the relationships that would carry the project forward.
Working closely with our CMO, I helped plan and execute the groundbreaking ceremony, a private event bringing together the partners, investors, architects, and collaborators who were making Paseo happen.
The event featured custom designed invitations, branded signage by Shorty's Wraps, LV-branded napkins, table covers, and shovels, live music by Texas String Assembly, seven speakers, and catering by Banger's Sausage House and Beer Garden. Every element was intentional, reflecting the scale and ambition of what Paseo was going to be. This was not a standard hard-hat photo op. It was a brand moment.
The result was an event that felt worthy of the project. It put Paseo on the map with key stakeholders before a single unit existed, reinforced confidence with the partners investing in it, and established the standard for how we would show up as a brand for the rest of the project. Two years later, Paseo would open as a 48-story tower on Rainey Street, reach 53 percent leased in under 90 days, and win Multifamily Development of the Year from CoStar.
